WSAID has partnered with First Quality Laboratory.  The laboratory located in Miramar, Florida is dedicated to provide the best service to its clients under the highest standards of quality. Clients don’t find just results when they contact them. They also find professionals that care. The staff at First Quality Laboratory is dedicated to providing to the community the best service they can provide and they do it through personalized attention. 

The laboratory has partnered with the international foundation Maria Luisa Moreno to host a wellness and disease prevention day on July 28th for the community. WSAID is pleased to participate in the activities of the day through our network of volunteers.  We encourage you to participate or visit.

We have found a strong partner willing to go the extra mile to ensure all newborns have a chance at a healthy life and we have already started to make a difference.

Infectious diseases are highly prevalent in Latin America.  Infections are the leading cause of infant and child mortality. Newborn screening plays a fundamental role in early detection of infectious diseases such as toxoplasmosis and HIV to name a few. Several disorders detected through newborn screening such as cystic fibrosis are also tightly linked to infection. Infections have no boundaries. Therefore early detection of infectious diseases combined with newborn screening is crucial to ensure the health of newborns and to decrease infectious disease transmission around the globe.
